I like to think that Kobe Bryant is so insanely, pathologically competitive even a game against the Michael Jordan-owned Charlotte Bobcats becomes another chance for him to out-MJ MJ. His first two quarters sure made it seem that way. In 16 First-half minutes Kobe brought out the GameShark and went 9 for 16 from the field (his 7 misses were all 3 point attempts but he still managed to sink two) 4 of 5 from the free throw line for 24 points and added 3 rebounds, a flashy assist and a steal. The third quarter was the opposite. 5 missed jumpers (four of them 3 pointers) for 0 points, 3 turnovers, a double technical with Gerald Henderson and a foul. Kobe sat out the last 12 while the bench closed out what is essentially a college team. Still, Kobe got to show off over MJ’s reputation as an owner and even left his jersey number (one over Jordan) as his point total for the night. The Lakers got the win. U Mad, MJ?
